Do you hate the person you were, in the WT ?? Yes but it was a good life lesson and if it was not the Watchtower it would have been somthing else.

Do you hate the person you were, in the WT ??
by wobble inwhen i look back, i can do so with rose coloured spectacles, but, in truth, i do not like the cult member i was.. o.k , in mitigation i was one of the most liberal jw's in a very liberal congregation, i never did the 100% shunning bit, i found nice seats (not at the very back, and next to their family if poss.
) for the df'd ones after giving them a proper welcome to the k.h for example.. but i still see clearly that my thinking was twisted by those mind controlling bastards who run, and write for ,the wtb$.
i did not trust anybody worldly to any great degree, i believed the "system" would end one day and so i didn't have to contribute anything to it,.. i could go on, but basically i hate all those things about me that were from the cult.. how about you ?

My Husband Cuts through the BS!
by 3dogs1husband ina long time ago my husband came up with this.. the wtbts holds out our hope like a carrot on the end of a stick, and we should be motivated to all ways want and try to get it.
if you change you mind in anyway and no longer want the carrot, or just wanna stand and eat the grass, you then will be beaten by the stick.. .

The Watchtower knows all about mind control and human behaivour that is for sure. That is why they don't like it when you take higher education as then they know they cannot control you anymore.

It is such a joke. I mean how much of the time reported is correct? I recall some posters on here saying they used to just make up a number and report it in order to keep the elders off their backs. Even the ones that are out in service, how much of that time is actually spent banging on doors? Outside of them doing their return visits or back calls and the rest of the publishers sitting in the car waiting, then with the 1/2 hour spent in the coffee shop, I would say that over 1/2 of the hours reported are non productive hours.

It is just another way for those old elders to get off on. Oh yes and sister where did he put his hands? Discribe in detail how you felt?

Here is something I posted 8 years ago on this site. If someone else has already posted this, my appologies for the duplication. Note how even though Fred Franz does not come out and say 1975 as the end of the system he was smart enough and uses a lawyer explaination to imply 1975.

THE YEAR 1975
At the Baltimore assembly Brother Franz in his closing remarks made some interesting comments regarding the year 1975. He began casually by saying, “Just before I got on the platform a young man came to me and said, ‘Say, what does this 1975 mean? Does it mean this, that or any other thing?’” In part, Brother Franz went on to say: ‘You have noticed the chart [on pages 31-35 in the book Life Everlasting—in Freedom of the Sons of God]. It shows that 6,000 years of human experience will end in 1975, about nine years from now. What does that mean? Does it mean that God’s rest day began 4026 B.C.E.? It could have. The Life Everlasting book does not say it did not. The book merely presents the chronology. You can accept it or reject it. If that is the case, what does that mean to us? [He went into some length showing the feasibility of the 4026 B.C.E. date as being the beginning of God’s rest day.]
‘What about the year 1975? What is it going to mean, dear friends?’ asked Brother Franz. ‘Does it mean that Armageddon is going to be finished, with Satan bound, by 1975? It could! It could! All things are possible with God. Does it mean that Babylon the Great is going to go down by 1975? It could. Does it mean that the attack of Gog of Magog is going to be made on Jehovah’s witnesses to wipe them out, then Gog himself will be put out of action? It could. But we are not saying. All things are possible with God. But we are not saying. And don’t any of you be specific in saying anything that is going to happen between now and 1975. But the big point of it all is this, dear friends: Time is short. Time is running out, no question about that.
‘When we were approaching the end of the Gentile Times in 1914, there was no sign that the Gentile Times were going to end. Conditions on earth gave us no hint of what was to come, even as late as June of that year. Then suddenly there was a murder. World War I broke out. You know the rest. Famines, earthquakes and pestilences followed, as Jesus foretold would happen.
‘But what do we have today as we approach 1975? Conditions have not been peaceful. We’ve been having world wars, famines, earthquakes, pestilences and we have these conditions still as we approach 1975. Do these things mean something? These things mean that we’re in the “time of the end.” And the end has to come sometime. Jesus said: “As these things start to occur, raise yourselves erect and lift your heads up, because your deliverance is getting near.” (Luke 21:28) So we know that as we come to 1975 our deliverance is that much nearer.’ -

I will tell you what I told my nephew, if you want your mother to respect your wishes then you have to respect her wishes. You cannot expect her to stop doing what she wants to do i.e. going out in service, so if you don't want your children to go out sevice than you will have to find another babysitter. I think that she was good about telling you that if you leave your children with me, they will have to go out in the service, unless they are old enough to be left alone for a few hours Saturday morning.

You bring your mom and the JC will through a real guilt trip on you. "Why you wouldn't want to disappoint your mom, would you?" I know my one son was brought in front of the JC years ago. He wasn't baptised so there was not much they could do to him so he talked back to them and my ex would tell our son to not be so disrespectful. He said he told his mother. "well they don't respect me so why should I respect them?"

GB - a decoy?
by bottleofwater in.
i just thought this... how do we know that the gb isn't a decoy for people with the real power in the organization?.
-
William Penwell
I believe like any large cooperation, the power and decision making is probably held by a select few of the GB. The rest of them are only figure head yes men with no real power. If they dare speak out and express their conscience, they would find themselves like Ray Franz. I know just talking to some of my relatives the congregations are run somewhat the same way but even though they realize it is a bunch of BS, they still stick in there.
